Storm Franklin leaves Falkirk area playpark underwater after torrential rain

A playpark has been left almost unusable after Storm Franklin brought torrential downpours to Falkirk.

Large swaths of Grangemouth 's Rannoch Park are underwater which has also flooded the main kids play area.

Heavy rain fell across the district yesterday leaving many roads like rivers and fields completely submerged.

The A883 between Camelon and Bonnybridge had to be closed because it was complete flooded.

Residents also took to Facebook to express their concerns after the Grange Burn rose to "worrying levels".

One person said: "I've never seen the burn as high as this for year. I know it's high tied, but that's a worrying level.

"I have called the Falkirk Council out-of-hours number and been told that they are monitoring the level and have sandbags ready to go if needed.

Another wrote: "Wow have you seen the burn. I don't think I have ever seen it that high.

"It's almost touching the road bridge at the park near the dentist."
