Storm Eunice Nottingham - Hour-by-hour wind speed and weather forecast

Nottinghamshire is braced for severe winds as Storm Eunice hits the UK, with the Met Office predicting speeds of around 60mph.

The Met Office has issued a rare red weather warning for parts of the UK on Friday, February 1 8, and said there could be “flying debris resulting in danger to life”.

An amber warning remains in place for most of England - including Nottinghamshire - and all of Wales as Storm Eunice arrives on our shores from Friday morning.

The warnings are in place all day Friday until 9pm.

The afternoon is when wind speeds are predicted to be particularly aggressive, with speeds reaching highs of around 58mph after lunch-time.

Heavy rain has also been forecast for later in the day.

Below is an hour-by-hour forecast:

9am - Wind speeds expected to be at around 38mph with speeds only expected to pick up for the rest of the day. Around 4C temperatures.

10am - Gusts pick up significantly with speeds of around 44mph.

11am - Wind speeds continue to rise, but steadily, with gust levels expected to be around 47 mph. Nottinghamshire should experience a temperature drop to around 2C.

12pm - Speeds should fall at lunch-time back down to 44mph.

1pm - Here is where wind speeds are predicted to reach extremely high levels of around 54 mph. Temperatures of around 5C. Heavy rain is also expected as we head into the afternoon.

2pm - Wind speeds will continue to rise and are expected to hit 58mph in Nottinghamshire and 60mph in Nottingham. The wind direction will be heading west.

3pm - A 70% chance of rain as wind speeds reach 56mph.

4-7pm - Wind speeds are expected to remain relatively high, with predictions of between 44-52mph. Temperatures should remain at around 4C. A low chance of rain.

8pm - The wind is expected to relent a little this evening. The Met Office is predicting gusts of around 41mph.
