A yellow wind, rain, and snow warning has been issued nationwide for Friday as Storm Eunice is set to hit the country.
Met Eireann has issued the weather warning for Friday from 1am to 3pm.
Storm Eunice will track over Ireland on Thursday bringing heavy rain, very strong wind, sleet, and snow.
Disruption is likely with spot flooding along the coast a possibility.
The warnings will be updated on Thursday morning.
Before Storm Eunice hits, the country is currently in the midst of the arrival of Storm Dudley.
A nationwide yellow weather warning has been put in place from noon today until midday on Thursday.
The National Crisis Emergency Team has issued the following tips to stay safe during stormy weather.
- Stay away from all coastal areas for the duration of the Met Éireann warnings.
- All road users should be aware of the potential for hazardous travelling conditions. Motorists should slow down and be aware of the dangers of fallen trees and debris. High sided vehicles, cyclists and motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable during this time.
- Keep mobile phone charged.
- It is critical that people never ever touch or approach fallen wires. Stay safe and stay clear of fallen or damaged electricity wires, and contact ESB Networks on 1800 372 999.
