Storm Eunice livestream shows planes battling to land at Heathrow in 70MPH winds

Planes facing Storm Eunice 's powerful gusts are still attempting to land at Heathrow - even as England is battered by record gusts.

A rare red warning is in force down south for extreme winds, but that hasn't stopped planes from attempting to land at the UK's busiest airport.

YouTube channel Big Jet TV has been capturing planes' wobbly attempts - and failures - to get on Heathrow's runways this morning, creating a viral sensation among Brits online.

An almost five minute compilation video shows several unsteady or aborted landings by huge planes from airlines like Qatar and Emirates.

Not only are watchers captivated by the landings, another appeal is the running commentary by founder Jerry Dyer.

As one plane lurches side-to-side on approach, Jerry narrates: "Easy, easy, easy! Go on, son! Oh! Okay, tippy-toe! Yeah! Big swing, man! Phwoar! Look at that rudder input!"

The UK has been captivated by the plane landings as hundreds of thousands of viewers have tuned into a livestream of Heathrow landings on Big Jet TV.

The livestream has amassed a record 200,000 concurrent watchers during the extreme weather.

According to the Met Office, winds have reached 70mph at Heathrow, one of the world's major international airports.

The forecaster warned that gusts up to 70mph are 'widely likely' in southern England, including London, and fierce gusts could reach 80mph on England's southern coast.
