Greenock Morton have experienced significant damage to their infamous “Cow Shed” at Cappielow Park.
That’s because of the ongoing impact Storm Éowyn is having across the United Kingdom today.
A red weather warning has been issued throughout most of Scotland, with schools closed and people urged to stay at home due to the expected winds exceeding 100mph.
Fortunately for Morton, their next two matches are away from home, which will allow time to fix the roof.
(Image: X) The Scottish League 1 fixture between Arbroath and Kelty Hearts at Gayfield Park - scheduled for Saturday, January 25 - has been called off due to storm damage at the stadium.
A statement read: “Following safety concerns due to the considerable damage to the Main Stand roof following Storm Éowyn, a meeting held between Arbroath FC and Police Scotland decided that due to the risk and the safety of supporters and players, the game will be postponed.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused and we thank supporters for their understanding.
“Whilst we appreciate this will be disappointing for our fans, the safety of all Arbroath and Kelty supporters, staff, and players is of paramount importance.
“Information for the rearranged fixture will be posted when confirmed.”
Meanwhile, Celtic FC Women's clash against Heart of Midlothian won't go ahead on Friday, January 24, and will now take place on Sunday evening instead.
Most stadiums are likely to be impacted by the adverse conditions, and it remains uncertain whether the rest of the SPFL and SWPL encounters will proceed this weekend.
