Battered overhead power lines torn down by trees during Storm Dudley have been repaired by rail workers.
The overhead lines near Kilwinning collapsed as 90mph winds hit Ayrshire – wreaking havoc on morning services between the North Ayrshire town and Largs and Ardrossan.
However, fast-acting Network Rail crews have managed to repair the damaged line after arriving at the scene in the early hours.
Incredible footage has captured the amazing progress after teams worked “extremely hard” to remove the tree and repair the gantry.
Repairs to the damaged gantry between Kilwinning and Largs/Ardrossan are now complete. There's a signal fault in the same area which we're working on. Once that's fixed and the rest of the route has been inspected, it'll be available for trains to run.

The clip shared on Network Rail’s Twitter praises the workers for their heroic efforts.
Rail bosses also announced that the overhead damage had been repaired by 6.85am this morning while also confirming they were looking into a signalling fault.
Services from Kilwinning to Largs are still currently impacted with rail operator ScotRail providing a shuttle bus service between Kilwinning, Ardrossan and Largs.
ScotRail halted services at 4pm yesterday ahead of amber-graded Storm Dudley's arrival.
Coastal flooding was forecast between Troon and Ayr as communities were warned by the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA).
