Stolen car set on fire and dumped in Scots street

A stolen car was set on fire and dumped in a street in West Dunbartonshire.

Emergency services raced to the scene on Dunn Street in the Dalmuir area at around 12.25am on Thursday morning.

Footage from the scene of the blaze shows plumes of smoke billowing from the motor, which is engulfed by the inferno.

The motor appears to have been dumped at the side of the road outside residential flats in the town.

Cops have confirmed that the fire is being treated as deliberate.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.25am on Thursday, 7 April, officers were called to a report of a car on fire on Dunn Street, Clydebank.

"There were no reports of injuries.

"The car had been reported stolen and the fire is being treated as wilful.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
