A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of 16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell in Stockwell, the Metropolitan Police said.
Lathaniel was shot dead in broad daylight close to Stockwell Tube station in south London on Tuesday afternoon.
In a statement, the Met Police said the man was arrested in Croydon on Friday morning and remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee said: “Our detectives are working hard to piece together the events of Tuesday afternoon and identify those responsible for killing Lathaniel.
“We continue to appeal for anyone with information about Lathaniel’s murder to please come forward and speak to us.”

Police were alerted shortly after 3.20pm on Tuesday to reports of a shooting on Paradise Road, close to Stockwell Tube station.
Paramedics from London's Air Ambulance and the London Ambulance Service treated Lathaniel at the scene but were unable to save his life.
Relatives have described the young victim as a Manchester United fan who enjoyed playing Playstation 5, who had one sibling, a sister.
The boy’s uncle, Smikie, paid tribute to his nephew as a “smiling” and “lovely” boy who was "loved by all his peers".
He told the BBC: "He grew up around here, he was well known around here. He was always smiling, he had that warm, infectious smile and it's just been wiped away."
A local resident, who said she knew the boy’s mother, earlier said Lathaniel was “very bright at school” and said his father worked at a nearby go-karting facility.
“He is great at looking after this community,” said the woman, who did not wish to give her name.
Lathaniel’s death was the third homicide in the capital this year of someone aged under 25.
Police are asking anyone with information which may help their investigation to call 101 with the reference 4116/04MAE, or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 to remain anonymous.
