The main road through Levenshulme has been closed by police tonight after a reported serious road traffic collision.
Police have confirmed a person has been taken to hospital.
There is no update from Greater Manchester Police as yet as to their condition.
It's understood however that a pedestrian was involved.
Witnesses at the scene reported a black Volkswagen Golf with a shattered windscreen on a side street within the police corden.

The closure - in force in both directions of the busy A6 Stockport Road through the centre of Levenshulme - is expected to cause long delays and remain in place for some time.
Transport for Greater Manchester confirmed the closure on Twitter.
It's in force between Albert Road and Barlow Road.

Police confirmed emergency services were responding to reports of a road traffic collision, but no further details have been released as yet.

It's understood the incident happened near to Stockport Road's junction with the Cromwell Grove, near to the sports bar and the Nat West bank.

Buses are being diverted.
Greater Manchester Police are due to issue an update later.
Officers and emergency services were called to the scene at 6.15pm.
A spokesman for GMP said the person involved was taken to hospital with injuries, but said no further information was known at this point.
