Stockport bonfires and firework displays taking place in 2022

It's that time of year again when the skies will fill with fireworks and the smell of burning bonfires will fill the air.

And while bonfire night falls on Saturday, November 5, this year you can expect to start seeing them firing from people's gardens in the days before the big day.

This year Stockport council will not be hosting an event in the borough. They join other Greater Manchester councils including Manchester, Trafford, Oldham and Bury in not providing a council display in 2022.

Bonfire Night is celebrated every year in commemoration of the failed gunpowder plot which sought to blow up the House of Lords and King James I in 1605.

The plot was famously initiated by Guy Fawkes, which is why some people refer to the holiday as Guy Fawkes Night.

Here is a breakdown of confirmed displays taking place across Stockport. Let us know if you would like one included by emailing newsdesk@men-news.co.uk.
