Day two of the Senior Bowl is complete, and Wednesday’s practice for the American team had a different feel than day one. while the wide receivers and cornerbacks still had a competitive day. The story of the day was with the other position groups.
The trenches were a battle throughout practice and gave us some of the best reps of the day with some intense matchups.
Let’s dive into some prospects who helped or hurt their draft stock from Wednesday’s practice.
Stock Up: Mississippi WR Jonathan Mingo
Mingo had a really strong second day of practice after a quiet first day. He was crisp with his routes and was burning defensive backs through the one-on-ones. A notable rep was when he beat Kansas St. CB Julius Brents, who had dominated the day before. Thursday will be an opportunity for Mingo to put together another strong practice and end this week among the best from the Senior Bowl.

Stock Up: Jackson St LB Aubrey Miller
We didn’t hear much from Miller on day one, but on day two, he caught the eyes of many in the stands. Miller stood out with his vision and physicality, especially in one-on-one drills, when he went against RB Tajae Spears and absolutely obliterated him. While his stock isn’t soaring, it was a good day that Miller can hang his hat on.

Stock Up: South Carolina CB Darius Rush
There were other cornerbacks that stole the show on Tuesday, but on Wednesday, it was Rush who had some really good plays in one-on-ones. In one rep, he stayed in the pocket of a receiver throughout the route and came away with a solid pass breakup. Later on, Rush got beat, but Bust showed resiliency and had a good recovery to make it a contested catch.

Stock Up: Virginia CB Anthony Johnson
Johnson was a very vocal player in today’s one-on-ones. He had a solid rep vs. SMU receiver Rashee Rice and could be heard throughout the stadium hyping himself up and screaming, “Let’s [expletive] go!” The cornerback group on the first day was dominated by Tyrique Stevenson and Julius Brents, but on Wednesday we saw some players like Johnson put together some good practice reps.

Stock No Change : Miami CB Tyrique Stevenson
Stevenson didn’t flash today after having a solid first day of practice, but he was still consistent. He was beaten deep a few different times, including one rep where he tried to jam Princeton WR Andreai Iosovis, who blew past him, but he also displayed some really great recovery. Stevenson went down later in practice with an injury; hopefully, it’s minor and he’ll get another opportunity to practice Thursday.

Stock Up: Princeton WR Andreai Iosivas
No wide receiver has helped their draft status more than Iosivias. He’s put together a couple of solid days of practice and really displayed his speed and release off the line of scrimmage again on Wednesday. In one particular rep, Miami CB Tyrique Stevenson tried to jam him at the line, but he blew past him as Stevenson tried to grab his jersey. Iosivias just needs to continue doing what he’s doing for Thursday’s practice.

Stock Down: Oregon St TE Luke Musgrave
This won’t be a popular take for most people given that Musgrave is a higher-ranked tight end, but he has not flashed to me through two days. He’s lacking burst, and his route running looks rough. Additionally, he hasn’t really been a consistent catcher. He did finish up practice decently well, but he just doesn’t look comfortable out there. Thursday is a day when he will need to really showcase his skills.

Stock Up: Florida G O'Cyrus Torrence
Torrence was a monster in today’s practice and continued to show why some teams consider him a first-round prospect. He displayed great footwork and was assertive with his hand placement. He’ll get another opportunity on Thursday to cement himself as one of the better guards in this class and then translate that to the game on Saturday.

Stock Down: TCU QB Max Duggan and Shepherd QB Tyson Bagent
This group is trending down for the second straight day. They continued to take check-downs throughout the whole practice and struggled to push the ball downfield. Additionally, they looked skittish in the pocket and constantly walked into sacks as if it were a live game. They’re holding back the wide receivers and tight ends. Luckily, at the final portion of 11-on-11, they were able to push the ball downfield a bit more. We’ll see if they can take that into Thursday to finish the week on a good note.

Stock Up: Tulane RB Tyjae Spears
This kid stole the show on multiple occasions on Wednesday. He displayed great vision and a twitching ability in the open field, which led to some big plays. He struggled in pass protection, but he made up for it throughout the rest of practice. He’s a guy to continue to watch heading into Thursday’s practice.
