Jack Leitch turned in a top display to seal Stirling Albion’s League Two title – and believes it’s only the tip of the iceberg for the club.
The 27-year-old creative midfielder was in excellent form for the Binos in the 3-1 win over Annan on Saturday, with his corner setting up the own goal for the leveller before getting on the scoresheet himself with a neat touch and finish.
It was a win that once again spoke to the fight contained within the Forthbank dressing room and Leitch admits they were stung into life after falling behind to Chris Johnston’s opener.
Leitch said: “It’s amazing. I think their goal kick-started our comeback in a way and I felt we were more comfortable on the ball in the second half.
“We have shown great character through the whole season and the manager has created an environment where everybody loves coming to training.
“Everybody wants to fight for each other and play for each other.
“I’ve been here three years and it’s the best dressing room we’ve had.

“The boys are always willing to help each other and you can see the number of last minute goals we have scored. It just feels like it was meant for us this year because of how hard we have worked and how much we wanted it for each other.
“We have shown our qualities and scored a lot of goals. It has been a collective effort and it’s amazing to get it over the line.”
Saturday’s win was watched by yet another bumper four-figure crowd and Leitch highlighted the importance of getting the support to buy into the team as key to their success.
And he hopes the building blocks put in place this season can help Albion moving forward into the years to come.
Leitch added: “The fans have been great all season showing up in their numbers.
“The last couple of months we have been getting 1000 at every home game. They have been unbelievable, away from home as well, and you can see how much this means to them.
“It’s a great mix of young kids who are coming out to watch us as well and they are really buying into what we are trying to do at the club.
“I won this league with Peterhead but this feels bigger. It’s the same competition, the same league, but for some reason if feels bigger definitely because Stirling have such potential to become a top, top part-time club.
“We have the infrastructure to do it, we have a great location and there is great people in the backroom staff.”
