Stirling Albion chairman Stuart Brown has resigned from his post after "historical social media posts" were uncovered.
Posting his resignation on social media, Mr Brown said he will step away from the Forthbank outfit with immediate effect.
Mr Brown issued a statement on Twitter, saying: "I hereby tender my resignation as chairman and director of Stirling Albion Football Club with immediate effect.
"The club's majority shareholder, Stirling Albion Supporters' Trust, has brought to my attention a small number of historical social media posts I made dating between 2010/15 that included language that I accept was inappropriate and unbecoming of someone holding office as a director of a professional football club."
He continued: "I unreservedly apologise to everyone associated with Stirling Albion, the SFA and the SPFL and most of all to my family who have endured many years of me, entirely inappropriately, putting the club before them.
"I very much look forward to being able to repay them by having the time to give the love and attention they deserve.

"My thanks to everyone who has supported me and to the many friends I've made at clubs across the length and breadth of Scotland.
"I wish nothing but good fortune to Stirling Albion moving forward."
The content of Mr Brown's social media posts in question remains unclear.
The shock resignation comes amidst a power struggle at the club.
In June this year, we told how Stirling Albion Supporters’ Trust was bidding to remove the current club board and create a new democratic club structure.
In a statement at that time, the trust - which owns 83 per cent of the shares at Stirling Albion - claimed the current board under Mr Brown had decided that fan ownership is not the way forward and had been working against the trust.
In March this year, we also told how a resolution to remove Mr Brown and fellow board member John Daly was to go to a vote at the club’s Supporters’ Trust AGM.
Mr Brown joined Albion as operations director in June 2011 and became club chairman in June 2014.
