A boy racer led police on a 125mph chase for 45 miles before officers eventually used a stinger device to puncture all his tyres.
The hard-stop didn’t deter Alan McDonnell, who kept driving on his wheel rims until he was blocked off by three patrol cars.
The 25-year-old was driving a powerful £60,000 Audi Q7 with a 155mph top speed and raced through roadworks at more than 100mph while crew were working in the dark in wet conditions.
He hit a roundabout on the outskirts of Dundee at 60mph and also tried to overtake a police containment vehicle before being stopped.
Sheriff Gillian Wade jailed McDonnell for nine months and banned him from driving for 22 and a half months yesterday.
McDonnell admitted driving dangerously at speeds up to 125 miles per hour between Greenloaning in Perthshire and Dundee in April last year. He also admitted to having no insurance or licence as he drove on the A9, A90, M90 and A85.
