A pair of Still Game stars who are real-life besties have received honorary doctorates from Queen Margaret University.
Jane McGarry, who played Isa, and Mark Cox, who portrayed penny-pinching Tam Mullen, were granted the honourable title of Doctor at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh on Tuesday, reports the Daily Record. The pair, who are friends in the real world as well as in the hit BBC sitcom, studied at the university as youngsters before going on to fame and glory in Scotland.

Queen Margaret University marked 50 years of drama teaching in this year's graduation celebrations, and the Still Game duo were at the top of the list for honours. Chewin' The Fat was where the pair met their maker in fame, alongside fellow Scots Greg Hemphill, Ford Kiernan and Paul Riley.
Jane was a part of the Chewin' The Fat radio show, but not its TV adaptation, while Mark was propelled to fame on the television sitcom.
Other accolades of Jane's include TV shows Rab C. Nesbitt and Me Too!. Jane also trained as a drama coach, and has inspired many local schoolkids to develop their creativity and acting.
Mark has featured in the likes of Shetland, Rebus, Outlander, and Scot Squad. He is best known for his part in Still Game, however, as the sneaky little OAP Tam.
To celebrate their achievements, Queen Margaret University took to social media to spread the message. They wrote on Twitter: "Beloved Scottish actors and QMU alumni Jane McCarry and Mark Cox, of @BBCScotland series Still Game, today were granted the title Doctor of the University! A perfect way to mark 50 years of drama and performance teaching at QMU!"
Jane shared the post far and wide, writing: "What a magical day. Dr Cox and Dr McCarry. Unbelievable. We loved our time at QM. Best of luck and congratulations to all the students."
Sir Paul Grice, Principal of Queen Margaret University, said: "We are delighted that, today, our students have the opportunity to learn about the careers of actors and creatives, Jane McCarry. We are inspired by Jane, Mark and Paul’s outstanding creativity and their endless ability to engage and entertain."
Still Game is a nationwide phenomenon and is still watched regularly to this day. You can see all eight seasons of the show on Netflix.
