Still Game’s Sanjeev Kohli will be the guest judge when The Masked Singer Live comes to Scotland.
And the 50-year-old can’t believe he is part of one of the UK’s biggest TV shows, admitting: “Consider my mind blown.”
Of course, Sanjeev knows all about looking different as since 2002 he was made to look like grey and bearded elderly shopkeeper Navid in Scotland’s favourite sitcom.
Now, he will team up with tour judges Denise van Outen and Aston Merrygold to try to guess who is behind the famous masks as the telly favourite goes on tour next month, stopping in Glasgow on April 9.
And the actor, who plays AJ Jandhu in BBC Scotland soap River City, admitted: “This unique world of singing traffic cones, mushrooms and hot dogs is bizarre enough on the small screen but up there on stage in front of thousands? And to be asked to be a judge? Consider my mind blown.”
The Glasgow night – at the Ovo Hydro on April 9 – will be a huge homecoming for the series.
It is being produced by Bandicoot Scotland, who are based in the city.
They also helm the international Emmy award-winning show for ITV.
Presented by Joel Dommett, Sanjeev joins a star-studded list of guest judges including the TV show’s judges Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross at the London dates, Scarlett Moffatt in Newcastle and Martine McCutcheon in Sheffield.
Thanks to the Record, the last series had its first Scots character, Bagpipes, who was unmasked as Aussie tennis ace Pat Cash.
The show’s boss Derek McLean, from Ayr, said: “Given Glasgow is a home show for us, Bagpipes might make a special appearance.
"We will be getting some extra special local celebs involved, new celebs who haven’t been on the TV shows.”
