Still Game star Greg Hemphill has spoken in detail about a prequel to the much loved BBC and Netflix show - and admits there are a few flaws in the idea.
As one of the writers behind the show Greg was asked by a fan if there was any chance of a prequel for Still Game as they'd love to know the back story of the characters.
The actor who plays Craiglang pensioner Victor McDade made some important points about the problems with prequels which follow the characters when they are younger.
He explained: "Characters are indestructible like Superman. (At least he has kryptonite. Prequel characters don’t even have that)
He added that one of the things that made Jack and Victor popular was their old age explaining: "I think we root for the Craiglang gang because they’re old."
He also drew comparisons with the ill fated prequel to Only Fools and Horses reminding people: "Only Fools & Horses did it and it was canned after a season."
One fan also said: 'Yous are that old now yous wouldn’t pass for a younger Jack and victor', Greg replied: "Haha! Very true. A prequel would have to be set in the 90’s for us to be age appropriate to play the parts…
He imagined the scenario: “Jack! That’s me got tickets tae Nirvana! Ye intae it?” “Cannae wait, Victor! Hope they play Heart Shaped Boax!”
And he added: "Call it 'I like the PlayStation'?"
