Stewartry schools say farewell to headteacher

Pupils from Colvend and Kirkgunzeon Primaries led a community carol service at Maxwell Hall in Kirkgunzeon.

They also took the opportunity to make a presentation to their headteacher,

Mrs Alexander, who was leaving after three years in post. Mrs Alexander said: “It has been a privilege to lead Colvend, Palnackie and Kirkgunzeon Primaries.

"I am so proud of the weekly opportunities we have created to bring our pupils together and which strengthen our partnership.

"I’m really going to miss the fun and friendship but looking forward to spending time with family and then heading onto a new adventure.”

At Mrs Alexander's request, pupils enjoyed a morning of hot chocolate, s’mores and popcorn cooked over an open fire.

Colvend and Palnackie demonstrated great forest skills to ensure Mrs Alexander’s last day was one to remember.
