Stewartry posties are set to stage more strike action today.
Workers who are members of the Communications Workers Union (CWU) will walk out.
Staff based in Castle Douglas are expected to take part in the strike – one of 19 days the CWU has targeted for action due to their ongoing dispute with Royal Mail.
The union claims a two per cent pay rise imposed on its members doesn’t tackle the cost of living crisis.
But Royal Mail has described the action as “reckless” and has “weakened” the financial position of a business losing £1 million a day.
The posties have received the backing of South Scotland MSP, Colin Smyth.
“The cost of living crisis is real and workers should not be faced with the situation where they cannot afford to feed their families, despite working harder than ever.”
