Stewart Cink celebrated nailing a hole-in-one at the Masters by telling his son and caddie Reagan "happy birthday".
Cink has been part of the furniture on the PGA Tour for the last 25 years, but has just one major title and seven others to his name. The 48-year-old will not be in contention for a green jacket at Augusta this weekend, but may have produced the best moment of the tournament on Friday.
On the brink of missing the cut as he approached his tee shot on the par 3 16th, the American hit what looked like a nicely flighted shot which would land in the middle of the green. But, to his delight, the outcome ended up being so much better than that.
The kind bounce was helped by the spin on the ball, and both Cink and the crowd watched on as it slowly crept towards the pin. As it dropped, those spectators let out a huge roar and the beaming 48-year-old punched the air in delight.
The moment was even more special for him, as he was able to share it with his son and caddie Reagan. After watching the ball fall into the cup, the youngster turned, dropped the golf bag he was carrying and gave his father a huge smile and hug.
The golfer could be seen telling his son "happy birthday" before they hugged, while Cink also received congratulations from fellow competitors Harry Higgs and Brian Harman.
He was able to take in the adulation from the crowd as he walked down the hole to collect his ball and wait while the others in his group finished the hole.
Sadly, the hole-in-one would prove not to be enough for his tournament to extend into the weekend. He still needed another birdie from one of the final two holes, but suffered a bogey on the 17th leaving him with too much to do to avoid the cut.
