Steven Gerrard has shared a simple message on Instagram as he thanked his many fans and followers for their well-wishes.
The former Liverpool FC captain turned 43 today (Tuesday) and earlier his eldest daughter, Lexie, took to Instagram to share a collage of snaps with her dad. She said: "Happy birthday to the best dad, we love you so much.
"Hope you have a fab day see you soon."

Later on Tuesday the former Rangers manager took to the social media platform himself after being flooded with messages. Jamie Carragher posted a hilarious photo from when Gerrard managed Aston Villa when they appeared to engage in a frosty handshake on the training ground.
In response to the outpouring of love, Gerrard shared his own post featuring a photo of himself and his son Leo, 5, smiling for the camera on sun loungers. Captioning the post he said: "Thanks for all the birthday messages".
Fans have been quick to wish him well in the comments section. Gabriel said: "Happy Birthday King", while Nikki said: "Great picture, happy birthday and have a lovely holiday".
Paul said: "Happy birthday legend" and Steph said: "Happy bday Stevie G. YNWA".
