Steven Gerrard's Rangers fan confrontation revealed after supporter broke into 'fuming' boss' office

Andy Halliday has revealed that a Rangers fan broke into Steven Gerrard's office their Auchenhowie training facility.

The now Aston Villa boss had a largely successful spell as boss at Ibrox and left last year for Premier League club the Villans. But it wasn't all rosy and now former player Halliday has revealed it got to such lengths than one supporter broke into his office, waiting for the Liverpool icon to arrive in his office at Rangers HQ.

Currently at Hearts, Halliday has told Open Goal that it led to a whole host of security changes around the training ground after it left Gerrard raging.

He said: "Gerrard was the manager at the time. This is a true story. Everything is gated and you can't get in. You might be able to wait at the gate and wait for player signatures. There was one day we came in from training.

"Steven Gerrard came marching through the canteen, raging, looking for someone. It might have been one of the player liaison officers.

"You could tell something happened. He's come back off the training pitch one day and a fan has been in his office, sitting in his office.

"He was waiting to question him on results. I don't know much else about him but he was fuming. But from that day, two or three security guards never came back. It was mental. How he got there is mental."
