Aston Villa are reportedly preparing to ramp up their interest in Calvin Bassey after their Hampden scouting mission.
Record Sport revealed last week the Villa Park outfit were set to have representation at the national stadium to watch Bassey in the Scottish Cup Final with Hearts.
The prospect of a reunion with Steven Gerrard appears to be edging closer with The Times stating English Premier League chiefs were impressed with the showing.
They look set to kickstart a bidding war this summer with the 22-year-old catching the eye of several clubs south of the border and in Serie A.
