Steven Gerrard posts adorable picture of son Lio in Liverpool kit not yet available in shops

Steven Gerrard has posted an adorable picture of his son, Lio, modelling the new Liverpool kit for the 2023/24 season.

The kit pays homage to Bill Shankly and the legendary Reds manager's final season in charge at Anfield. For the next campaign, the iconic kit from the 1973-74 season, that saw the Scot's side scoop the FA Cup, has been reimagined as it was unveiled for the first time on Friday.

Its classic design sees the bright Liverpool red with white contrast collar and cuffs which will be debuted in the final home game of the season against Aston Villa.

The Reds legend took to Instagram to show his son showing off what his current icons will be wearing for the next campaign as Jurgen Klopp's side look to reclaim their place at the pinnacle of English and European football.

In a story on his social media, Gerrard tagged both the official Liverpool account with their retail profile alongside a star-eyes emoji.

It's the latest showing of how big of a fan the former captain's son is. In February, Lio could be seen sporting a full Liverpool kit while posing with his dad with an impressive mural, replicating the Liverpool dressing room in the background. As well as his own name plate, Luis Diaz and Alison's names appeared on the mural.

A Liverpool football and water bottle was also added to the painting. His mural was finished with two hooks, complete with a 'MurWalls' Liverpool shirt and a 'Lio' top with Gerrard's number.

Last month, Gerrard senior watched on as the five-year-old scored a penalty in front of the Kop at half-time of Liverpool's win over Nottingham Forest.

He was also able to walk out before kick-off with his hero Mohamed Salah.

The home kit is now available to pre-order by clicking HERE.
