Steven Gerrard noises up Celtic fan with Rangers title boast as he aims dig at 'obsession' with 10 In A Row

Steven Gerrard took great pleasure in noising up a Celtic fan over his title win at Rangers.

Sky Sports footage of the Aston Villa boss revelling in delivering '55' for the Ibrox faithful has circulated online as he jokes about the Parkhead club's "obsession" with 10 In A Row.

Some fans online have speculated the off-camera Celtic could be none other than Villa star and boyhood supporter John McGinn.

Either way, the former Ibrox gaffer was in mischievous form as he spoke to presenter Adam Smith in the short clip, poking fun at the "biggest year in their history".

"I'm sitting next to a Celtic fan here, by the way," Gerrard laughed. 'Let's move on swiftly', he's saying!

"55, definitely, because of the obsession of the Celtic fans - 10 In A Row this, 10 In A Row, that, blah, blah, blah.

"To get 55 was special.

"(Pointing) You should see his face! The biggest year in Celtic's history, and that's how it went..."

Gerrard left Rangers for Villa in November 2021, a decision that left a sour taste in the mouths of plenty of Rangers' fans.

But this light-hearted exchange may just begin to heal some of those wounds.
