Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard is hoping his side can take the frustrations of their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace out on Burnley. Villa missed the chance to move within two points of the top half after they surrendered a 1-0 second half lead inside the final 10 minutes.
And Villa’s game with the Clarets could also have a huge say on the Premier League relegation battle, with Leeds United now one point ahead of Mike Jackson’s side. But Burnley’s trip to the West Midlands is their game in hand over Leeds, and they know anything other than a defeat would move them back out of the bottom three ahead of the final day of the season.
A Burnley victory at Villa Park would leave them needing only a point against Newcastle United on Sunday to confirm their Premier League status. Villa boss Gerrard, though, is still hopeful of a top 10 finish and is therefore looking for his side to use their frustration from Sunday into the game against the Clarets.

He said: "It's on (top half) but it's slightly more difficult now. We needed to take control of that and take maximum points today but my players are frustrated and I really like it.
"I like that they’re really frustrated and, hopefully, we can take that frustration out on Burnley on Thursday night because if we want to be a more consistent team at home, we have to be more ruthless and clinical in front of goal.
"That's two games now in a short space of time where we're a little frustrated where we haven't taken the big chances that we're creating. We're doing ever so well to create them. A lot of away games we've been ruthless.
"At Burnley, we were clinical to take the points. We've had chances; Man City late on to sneak a draw, chances against Liverpool, Tottenham in the first half, double figures in the first half."
