Steven Gerrard in cheeky Celtic fan dig as former Rangers boss says THAT Liverpool celebration had to happen

Steven Gerrard says Celtic fans can take their medicine as he addressed his celebration in front of the away end at Anfield.

Gerrard captained the Liverpool legends side against his old rivals and as a former Rangers boss, he was never going to be popular among the travelling fans. He tucked home a first-half penalty right in front of them just minutes after he was booed standing over a free-kick and he raced off to celebrate with his teammates right in front of them.

Things were thrown onto the pitch as he celebrated but Gerrard was in good spirits after he led the Liverpool team to a 2-0 win. Asked about the penalty incident on Liverpool TV after the game, he said: "It was definitely a penalty. Martin Skrtel's excellent bursting through like a marauding midfielder. Stonewall penalty.

"There was only one taker from there and that's me, in front of the Celtic fans. A little bit of pressure, I waited for (Artur Boruc) to go, and you have to milk it. I've had so much stick off them so they can have a bit back. There you go."
