It would be remiss to claim Rangers supporters haven't moved on from their three-and-a-half year love affair with Steven Gerrard.
There remains a deep-seated respect for the man who delivered 55, but the Ibrox fanbase are living very much in the here and now.
And why wouldn't they be?
Rangers are dreaming of the Europa League Final under Gio van Bronckhorst, as well as Scottish Cup glory and a renewed bid to beat Celtic to the title.
But Gerrard's wide-ranging interview with Gary Neville offered further insight into his tenure in the Scottish Premiership.
He also raised some eyebrows when he claimed he should have signed for Rangers OR Celtic before he called time on his career..
It's an honest admission from the 41-year-old as he waxed lyrical about the noise generated at Ibrox and Parkhead.
He told The Overlap, he said: "Both atmospheres though I must say now that I am out of it are sensational.
"They really are top, top.
"I almost say to myself ‘maybe in hindsight should I have gone up to one of them rather than go to America?'
“But I probably went to America for different reasons."
Gerrard's desire to join Rangers in 2018 was unequivocal, however, he had already been vocal about the special noise created by Celtic on European nights.
The Liverpool icon was on punditry duty for the 5-0 trouncing over Astana at Celtic Park and made no secret of the impression Glasgow's east end made on him during his playing days.
Speaking to BT Sport, he said: "I was lucky to play here one night in Europe and you can feel it as an opposition player.
"For the first few minutes, I was lost with the noise.
"Before you know it you can be a goal down or be right under pressure."
Gerrard's place as a bonafide Rangers hero is cemented with the 25-point title romp, a pair of extended runs in Europe and his party starting routine that followed after delivering league glory.
But his recent comments about considering both sides of Glasgow chime with a superstar who didn't have ties to the city before being sold on Ibrox in 2018
