Steven Davis suffers severe Rangers injury as club confirm veteran's season over with knee problem

Steven Davis will play no further part in Rangers' season, and could spark the end of his career after the veteran's injury extent has been revealed.

Michael Beale revealed that the 37-year-old was off for a scan on a potentially worrying injury, with the new boss suggesting the midfielder would not play a part before the New Year, including not being in the squad for the Celtic clash. Now Davis has suffered a hellish setback with the club confirming a knee injury will keep the star OUT for the rest of the season, and could signal bad news for his playing career.

It comes after Michael Beale lauded the extent of injuries at Ibrox, with key stars such as Alfredo Morelos, James Tavernier and John Lundstram said to have not been ready for the Aberdeen game despite featuring. And now Davis joins the list on the recovery table, with the most-capped British player of all time due to miss at least six months of action.
