Steven Davis is close to agreeing a new deal at Rangers.
The Northern Ireland international, who is away on international duty, is expected to sign an Ibrox extension imminently.
The 37-year-old is keen to play on and there have been very positive discussions that will keep him in light blue.
. .
Davis, who is in his second spell with the club, missed spells of last season through injury but got over them and played his part in the Scottish Cup win and in the run to the Europa League final.
Motherwell and St Mirren we’re both keen on the experienced midfielder but they look set to be disappointed.
Davis is a big influence for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad on and off the park and it is likely to be the same next season, even if he doesn’t play as much.
Veteran keeper Allan McGregor is taking time out to decide if he will continue playing next season.
Rangers are also in talks with Leon Balogun while Connor Goldson looks likely to depart on freedom of contract.
