Steven Davis offered Rangers contract alternative as Motherwell 'line up' transfer approach

Out of contract Steven Davis could be set to leave Rangers with Motherwell reportedly ready to launch an ambitious approach.

Ibrox legend Davis is set hold contract talks with the club this week after playing a key role in the Scottish Cup victory over Hearts.

The 37-year-old's future is up in the air alongside veteran teammate Allan McGregor alongside defensive duo Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun.

The Daily Mail state that Davis won't be short of offers with Graham Alexander set to attempt to bring the Northern Ireland hero to Fir Park.

They claim Motherwell "want to make the veteran midfielder an offer if his time at Ibrox is up."

Premiership rivals St Mirren have also been linked with a move for Davis as Stephen Robinson targets a reunion from the Northern Ireland international camp.

Following a potential Rangers swansong at Hampden, Davis said: 'I really don't know.

"We just said we'd speak after this. It's been an emotional week with the Europa League final.

"This doesn't make up for it because it was a real good opportunity for us, but we're delighted to win this.

"I'm delighted we could finish on a high. We'll sit down next week or so and see where everything is."
