Steve Morison issues update on Bournemouth target Kieffer Moore and responds to Bristol City's Nahki Wells links

Cardiff City boss Steve Morison said he expects to see Kieffer Moore reporting for training on Monday as he revealed the Bluebirds had not received any concrete offers for the Wales striker.

The Bluebirds front man has been absent for a month after going off against Bournemouth with an ankle knock and it is the Cherries who have been credited with an interest in signing him before Monday's 11pm deadline.

But Morison reiterated his stance that, as things stand, Moore is not going anywhere.

"Until someone tells me otherwise," Morison said when asked if he thought Moore would be a Cardiff player come the close of play on Monday.

"Same as I was sitting here on Friday saying I had no one incoming, it could literally be that I walk out here now and someone tells me he is gone or he is staying.

"As of right now, I expect to see Kieffer Moore tomorrow at training."

Cardiff announced the signing of Jordan Hugill an hour before the team was revealed for Sunday's game with Nottingham Forest.

The striker scored within five minutes of his debut during the 2-1 win over Forest, announcing himself in fine fashion.

When asked whether Hugill was brought in as a replacement for Moore, Morison added: "I look at it and go, 'Imagine having Kieffer Moore and Jordan Hugill up top'. That wouldn't be bad, would it?!

"It's all speculation at the minute with Kieffer.

"I haven't had anything to be told otherwise. I've spoken to Kieffer, he is where he is and he is coming back on his rehab.

"He is due to come back into training tomorrow, so we will just wait and see."

Cardiff have been linked with a number of forward players in this window, the most recent of which are Sean Maguire of Preston North End and Nahki Wells at Bristol City.

And while Morison admitted he is happy with his lot, he reiterated that the turbulent nature of the window could mean he might have to "react" if players leave the club on deadline day.

"It's not like the other day where I've done three offers and I'm going to get a phone call after," he said when Maguire and Wells rumours were put to him.

"We have spoken to loads of people. But that whole process where we were trying to get Jordan and Alfie, someone must be giving this information to someone.

"Yes, we have enquired about lots of people, but I've got the one I wanted.

"I enquired for him, I couldn't have him, so then I enquired about Uche [Ikpeazu], for example. By the time I got back inside there was a thing being released that we were about to sign Uche!

"There are loads of irons in the fire if I need to react to anything. But as of now, no."
