Steph Curry turned back the clock during the Golden State Warriors‘ overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday. The veteran point guard dropped 60 points on 57.9% shooting from the field while only taking six attempts from the free-throw line. It was one of Curry’s best overall performances in recent years.
When speaking to the media following the game, head coach Steve Kerr did what he’s done hundreds of times throughout his tenure with Golden State. He praised Curry’s incredible individual performance. Kerr noted how his star player was sublime throughout the night and continually found ways to make big plays for the team.
“Steph was incredible,” Kerr said. “What a performance. I feel bad for him and our guys because they’re battling, and we’re obviously short-handed. It was a back-to-back. I thought we competed like crazy for the whole game, but we just couldn’t get over the hump. But, Steph was sublime.”
While the loss hurt the Warriors, there were some encouraging signs. After all, it took an overtime period for the Hawks to secure the win. Golden State didn’t take its foot off the gas for the entire game despite there likely being some tired legs on the court.

The Warriors now turn their attention to the Brooklyn Nets, who they will face on Monday at the Barclays Center. Kerr hopes his team can continue performing at a high level as it looks to claw its way back to .500 and then climb in the Western Conference standings.
