Steve Kerr pinpoints key aspect behind Warriors struggles

The Golden State Warriors are navigating a six-game losing streak. Steve Kerr‘s team has stuttered on both sides of the court, yet their offensive slump should be the most concerning. There has been a noticeable over-reliance on Steph Curry’s scoring ability throughout the first few weeks of the new basketball calendar.

According to Kerr, who was speaking to the Mercury News, part of the Warriors’ struggles is down to a lack of pace on offense. More specifically, finding a pace that works for the roster and allows the team to retain control throughout a game.

“We’re really urging the guys to throw the ball ahead and push the ball, we want more pace,” Kerr said. “We don’t need to be first in the league like last year when we turned it over more than anybody else, but we have to find the right balance. And that’s part of the early-season search for our identity.”

Multiple members of the Warriors roster are struggling on the offensive end. Klay Thompson and Chris Paul have yet to hit their usual lofty heights. While Andrew Wiggins may have snapped out of his cold start during the team’s Nov. 19 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Golden State will face the Houston Rockets on Monday (Nov 20), hoping to snap their cold spell and get back in the win column. A seventh straight loss would only increase the alarm bells currently ringing within the fanbase.
