Steve Kerr isn’t concerned about the Golden State Warriors roster and what moves they make at the trade deadline. The championship-winning head coach has faith in his team and trusts them to turn their season around. As such, he doesn’t expect any major trades involving the Warriors to take place on or before February 8.
Furthermore, Kerr, who was speaking on a recent episode of the “Willard and Dibs” show, noted how the Warriors aren’t desperate for a deal. He has also recently noted how it would be hard to upgrade the talent level within the Warriors locker room at present.
“I don’t anticipate anything happening…I can tell you there’s been no desperation on our part,” Kerr said. “There’s plenty of conversations, but 0 desperation.”
Joe Lacob and Mike Dunleavy Jr. will likely look toward a smaller deal that helps improve the bench or provide deep-rotation cover for the playoffs. However, it’s becoming increasingly likely that Golden State retains their star veterans and young talents, at least until the end of the season.

It’s easier to make a decision in the offseason. That way, you can take stock of the whole basketball year, including playoff performances. That way, you can assess what moves need to be made in order to get the franchise back on track and fighting for the top seed in the Western Conference.
As such, Kerr is likely right; the Warriors won’t be desperate for a trade, at least not now.
