Hibs youth supremo Steve Kean is on the shortlist for the new Charlton vacancy.
The Glasgow-born former Blackburn boss returned to Scotland last summer to take over the Easter Road side's academy after stints working in Singapore and Australia.
But while Hibs chiefs are busy searching for a new boss to replace Shaun Maloney, Charlton are preparing to make their move for Kean.
The London outfit are impressed by the 54-year-old’s CV and hope to get the green light to hold talks after sacking Johnnie Jackson on Tuesday.
The former Addicks midfielder was only appointed to his first management role in October after stepping in as caretaker following Nigel Adkins’ departure but was bulleted after leading his side to a 13th-place finish in England’s League One.
Kean’s last stint in management was with Ange Postecoglou’s old A-League side Melbourne Victory, who he bossed for 10 games on a temporary basis before returning to Scotland.
