Head coach Steve Cooper said Richarlison’s stoppage time keepie-uppies “wouldn’t be accepted” at Nottingham Forest.
The Tottenham Hotspur substitute riled the City Ground crowd by juggling the ball after receiving it on the left flank in the final 10 minutes, with the visitors 2-0 up. He was promptly clattered into by Brennan Johnson, who picked up a yellow card for his troubles.
The Reds ace earned plenty of plaudits from the home fans for his challenge. And Cooper said he would have given such antics short shrift, had one of his players done what Richarlison did.

“I wouldn’t want my players to do that, what Richarlison did,” said the Welshman. “But if that’s accepted at Spurs then that’s nothing to do with me. But it wouldn’t be accepted here, that’s for sure.”
Forest fell to their first home defeat of the season as they were twice beaten by Harry Kane on the banks of the Trent. It was a positive performance from Cooper’s men, however.
Lewis O’Brien forced a good save from Hugo Lloris, while Morgan Gibbs-White and Neco Williams also went close during the 90 minutes. Perhaps the best chance fell to Ryan Yates, who put a free header wide after the break, when the match was still in the balance.
The Reds have made an encouraging start on their return to the top-flight after a 23-year absence. They have four points from their first four games, with a trip to Manchester City next up on Wednesday night.
