Four Southampton players to miss crucial Nottingham Forest clash as injury update given

Southampton will welcome back one player from injury against Nottingham Forest on Monday night, but four will remain on the sidelines with injury.

Forest host the Saints at the City Ground in the 8pm kick off, with Forest knowing what they may have to do in order to climb out of the relegation zone, depending on how other results go this weekend. The Reds are currently in 18th place on goal difference, level on points with Leeds United and Leicester City, who are 17th 16th respectively.

Southampton, meanwhile, remain at the bottom of the table, six points adrift of Forest. A win would see the Saints cut that deficit to just three points as they look to pull off an unlikely escape from relegation.

Morgan Gibbs-White reveals angry Steve Cooper reaction that left Nottingham Forest squad stunned

Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has revealed Steve Cooper’s angry reaction following last week’s loss against Brentford.

The Reds were on their way to what would have been three big points in the race against relegation this season. A Danilo goal just before half time had put Forest 1-0 up.

That is how the score stayed until Ivan Toney’s free kick found the back of the net in the 82nd minute to draw Brentford level. Things got worse for Forest in stoppage time when Josh Dasilva struck in the 94th minute to take all three points for Brentford and condemn Forest to a difficult loss.

Man City sent 'do your thing' Nottingham Forest order as Neville makes 'miracle' Leeds claim

Nottingham Forest fans have their fingers crossed for a big win for Manchester City this afternoon (Saturday) as they take on Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium.

Both Leeds and Forest, along with Leicester City, are on 30 points as the race to survive relegation at the end of the season hots up. The Reds are currently in the third relegation spot on goal difference, but a record-equalling win for Man City could change that without Forest even kicking a ball.

However, only a 9-0 win for Man City will do, with Leeds having scored significantly more goals than Forest this season. Most Forest fans would just take a win for City, with Leeds, under the management of Allardyce looking to pull off a shock result.
