Scotland boss Steve Clarke has hit back at criticism of Liverpool star Andy Robertson after he was captured enjoying a beer during the club's trophy parade on Sunday afternoon.
The Reds were defeated 1-0 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final over the weekend, but returned to Merseyside with a warm welcome as the city celebrated the two domestic cups in an open top bus parade.
The left back has now joined up with his national side ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Wednesday evening. Clarke has brushed off any criticism aimed at the Scotland captain and says he was right to celebrate with the team.

“Liverpool had a great season. When you look at two of the four major trophies in the cabinet," he told the media earlier this week. "They missed out on the league by a point and one goal did them in the Champions League final. They were very close to the Quadruple.
“They’ve had a great season. Finishing with two disappointments is something you learn to deal with as a professional player. It was the right thing to do, the right thing to celebrate with his team and his supporters on the back of a fantastic season for Liverpool.
"(Andy Robertson) has joined us in a great place and that’s all I am concerned about. I don’t care about criticism. It won’t bother Andy and it certainly won’t bother me.”
The defender isn't the only Liverpool star to head off on international duty this week. Alisson and Fabinho have joined up with the Brazil squad while Virgil van Dijk has teamed up with the Netherlands squad ahead of their Nations League fixtures.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is also part of Gareth Southgate's squad for England's upcoming games, starting with a match against Hungary this weekend.
