Steve Belichick looks up to his father, Bill Belichick, but he isn’t afraid to roast him in front of a room full of media members, when given a chance.
The Washington Huskies defensive coordinator was recently asked to describe the main difference between he and his father, and he summed it up with a red-hot, one-liner burn for the ages.
“I got a job and he doesn’t,” said Steve Belichick. “He knows that. I look up to my dad. He’s a mentor to me, but I’m myself. I work with these guys. I work with the kids, and I recruit kids. Just going to be myself. I’m not going to try and be him.”

This will be Steve Belichick’s first time venturing outside of New England as a coach. So he’ll no longer be under his dad’s umbrella with a Huskies team that made it all the way to the national title game in the 2023 season. .
This is a big opportunity for him to start writing a story that doesn’t include the greatest coach of all time at the top of the rolling credits.
