Former White House strategist Steve Bannon suggested President Donald Trump will run and win the upcoming presidential election even though he is already term-limited.
In an interview with News Nation's Chris Cuomo, Bannon was asked if he was planning to run for president in 2028. He said that he is "a firm believer that President Trump will run and win again. I've already endorsed President Trump." "A man like this comes along once every century, if we're lucky. We've got him now. He's on fire," he added.
Cuomo pointed out the two-term limit and asked Bannon: "How do you think he gets another term?"
"We're working on it. I think we'll have, I think we'll have a couple of alternatives," he said. "Let's say that. We'll see, we'll see, we'll see what the definition of term limit is."

Q: You know he's term limited, how do you think he gets another term?

Bannon also claimed that he and the people behind Project 2025 and the America First Policy Institute organized and played a central role in Trump's second electoral victory, as well as "the policies that you're seeing today."
"But this is many years in the making, so we've had greater long shots than Trump 2028, and we've got a lot of stuff we're working on there," he added. "We're not prepared to talk about it publicly, but in a couple of months, I think we will be."
The 22nd Amendment, ratified in 1951, was a direct response to Franklin D. Roosevelt's unprecedented four-term presidency. Before Roosevelt, most presidents followed George Washington's tradition of serving only two terms, but his extended leadership during the Great Depression and World War II led Congress to formalize the limit.
Trump has repeatedly teased the idea of running for a third term. Most recently, in the St. Patrick's Day event in the White House. Trump told Ireland Prime Minister Micheal Martin, "I want to just thank you once again for being here. It's an honor, and hopefully, we're gonna be doing this at least three more times, OK," Trump said at the time. "We're gonna be doing this three more times, at least."
The President swiftly followed his remark claiming, "When I say 'at least,' [the news media] go absolutely crazy."
Other conservatives, such as Rep. Andy Ogles from Tennessee, supports the idea of Trump serving a third term. Back in January, Ogles proposed an amendment to the Constitution that would allow Trump to run in 2028.
"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times, nor be elected to any additional term after being elected to two consecutive terms, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice," the amendment said.
Democratic lawmakers voiced strong opposition to the proposal, citing their support for the 22nd Amendment in a resolution issued in February.
"Resolved, That the House of Representatives (1) reaffirms that the Twenty-second Amendment applies to two terms in the aggregate as President of the United States; and (2) reaffirms that the Twenty-second Amendment prohibits President Trump from running for President for another term," it reads.
