Sterjovski buoyed by Hollman's hot form for Macarthur

Macarthur boss Mile Sterjovski is lavishing praise on Jake Hollman after the rising star's sparkling run of form helped the Bulls maintain their unbeaten start to the A-League Men season.

Hollman, 22, has been one of the Bulls' standout performers this season, scoring four goals in his last five games - including the opener in Saturday's 2-0 win over Sydney that sent the club to the top of the table.

It caps a remarkable turnaround for Macarthur after picking up last year's wooden spoon.

Olyroos midfielder Hollman has also had to fight his way back to the top, overcoming two bouts of glandular fever to become a key player for the club.

But what has earned Sterjovski's admiration is the fact that Hollman has been playing in a variety of positions with a rotating cast of teammates as the Bulls juggle ALM and AFC Cup commitments.

"Jake is maturing, with an extra year in the A-League he's a lot more comfortable," Sterjovski said.

"He's a lot stronger than he was in the previous season, he's definitely developed and he's full of confidence.

"Technically he's a great player, he's clever with the ball and he can play anywhere.

"He can play as a No.10 or on the left or right. He's able to do that because he understands the game really well and I'm quite pleased that I can rely on him in those positions."

The Bulls face another hectic week of travel with the club set to jet off to face Filipino club Dynamic Herb Cebu on Thursday in their final game of the AFC Cup group stages.

Then on Monday week they face Wellington Phoenix in the ALM.

But Sterjovski remains adamant the Bulls have the depth to keep the strongest run in the club's history going.

"With the scheduling we've had in the last couple of months we have to use a lot of the squad and rotate certain players," Sterjvoski said.

"Everyone's putting in a shift and each player that we put in we can rely on.

"They're doing a job and it's made a big difference for us this year.

"The players really believe and we're heading in the right direction."
