Stereophonics' Kelly Jones has announced details of the first ever gig for his new band, Far From Saints. The Cwmaman rocker's much-touted sonic departure from his day job will see him team-up with Patty Lynn and Dwight Baker from Texan outfit The Wind and The Wave at an intimate venue this summer.
The half Welsh/half American outfit will play the 680-seater EartH Theatre in Hackney, London on June 5. More dates at UK festivals are currently being pencilled in and should be confirmed soon.
The trio first experimented with playing music together when The Wind and The Wave opened for Kelly on his UK solo tour in 2019. The three of them would then spend their downtime jamming and writing songs together.

They would also get together during Kelly’s set to perform a cover of Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty’s Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around’. And it's the Nicks/Fleetwood Mac influence which many fans noted when FFS unveiled their debut song Let's Turn This Back Around back in January, chiefly due to its soaring vocal harmonies and country rock vibe.
The band's yet-to-be-titled debut album will also be released this summer. Captured organically in two recording sessions spanning just nine days it's release was put on hold after the Covid pandemic hit.
Tickets for the London show will go on sale from 9am this Friday (February 17). To order some click here.
