Stephen Robinson explains Keanu Baccus St Mirren absence against Rangers

Keanu Baccus will not feature for St Mirren against Rangers due to a knee issue.

The Australian international has been a key contributor for Stephen Robinson's side this season but is not in the matchday squad at Ibrox.

Ahead of kick-off, Robinson revealed Baccus is struggling with a "niggling knee injury" which the player has played through since returning from the World Cup.

Baccus, 24, had a flare-up of the injury on Friday afternoon and has been left out of the squad while the issue is investigated by medical staff.

The player will head for scans to diagnose the issue on Monday.

Robinson told BBC Sportsound: "Keanu has had a little bit of a niggling knee injury.

"He came back from Australia with it since the World Cup.

"It flared up yesterday after training. I think we just need to investigate it.

"We will have a look and get scans on Monday and then take it from there."

Robinson could face transfer bids for a host of players in the summer with Baccus and Mark O'Hara standout performers this season.

But the Buddies boss insists it would take a bumper bid to take O'Hara from Paisley with the midfielder having penned a deal until 2026.

Earlier this week, Robinson said: "How much was (Ian) Ferguson? £850,000? Well, we'd need some decent money to part with Mark.

"I don't get involved in the financial side, so that would all be the board's decision.

"I don't want him to go anywhere, but he is valued very highly."
