Stephen Graham makes debut on Peaky Blinders and viewers all say the same thing

High-profile actor Stephen Graham finally made his presence known in BBC drama Peaky Blinders, and viewers are all in awe following his "acting masterclass" on the show.

Graham appeared in episode three of the final series of Peaky Blinders as Hayden Stagg, who starts straight out the gate butting heads with Arthur Shelby (Paul Anderson).

Despite his first appearance being relatively short-lived, people didn't run out of words to describe his opening scene on the show.

As reported by Leicestershire Live, fans flocked to social media to praise the acting skills of Stephen Graham, with one happy viewer writing: "Stephen Graham is arguably the best living British male actor. I’ll give you a tenner if you can find me a better one."

Another wrote: "The guy is never not great in anything he appears in.

And a third wrote: "My word, Stephen Graham is a tremendous actor."

In the episode- spoilers ahead, read with caution! - Hayden is a dockyard worker where the Shelby clan are hiding large quantities of opium, and the workers are in on the act.

With the deal beginning to show cracks, Hayden makes his presence known to Arthur as he visits the dockyards, where the pair ended up locking heads in a tension-filled stand-off.

Many felt this was the stand-out scene from the episode, with one fan writing: "Stephen Graham and Paul Anderson. Acting masterclass."

A second Twitter user said: "Stephen Graham is just made for Peaky Blinders isn’t he?

"If there’s one top class British actor you want in a drama like this it’s him. What a man.”

And a third agreed: "Stephen Graham is a legend. Poor Arthur.”

Peaky Blinders continues this Sunday, March 20, at 9pm on BBC One.

You can also stream the series so far on BBC iPlayer.
