Sir Stephen Fry has shared a rare photo with his husband, Elliott Spencer, to commemorate their 10th wedding anniversary.

The former QI host, 67, and actor and comedian, 36, tied the knot in January 17, 2015, at a registry office in Norfolk – just 11 days after confirming their engagement.

Fry - who hasn’t been pictured with Spencer for almost six years - paid tribute to their nuptials by sharing a sweet photo from the ceremony on Instagram on Friday.

The Blackadder star posed with his arm around Spencer, who was wearing a black suit, as they showed off their wedding rings in the heartwarming snap.

“Ten happy years to the day since we were joined in marriage. I’m a lucky man,” he wrote in the caption.

It is believed that Fry met Spencer in 2012, with the pair’s connection turning romantic in 2014.

Discussing their initial encounter, Fry previously said on The Jonathan Ross Show: "We met at a friend’s house and I knew pretty much straight away that this was someone I wanted to spend, what I considered, the rest of my life with."

The broadcaster proposed to the Southampton-born actor one year after they began dating.

While the lovebirds tend to keep their relationship out of the limelight, Fry previously addressed their near 30-year age gap.

"I don't care what people think. Stephen is the love of my life, the light of my life,” he told The Mirror at the 2015 BAFTAs.

"We laugh all the time. Humour is the binding thing in our life. I think that's what brought us together."

Fry added that they have discussed the prospect of starting a family but aren’t in a rush.

"Elliott and I, we talked about it a bit, but we never talked about it to the extent of 'Right, so, we're going to a clinic tomorrow to talk this through to some expert.'

"We never quite got that far. It was always 'Yeah, it would be nice, wouldn't it?'"

Fry’s anniversary post comes two weeks after he was awarded a knighthood in the New Year Honours.

He is being recognised for services to mental health awareness, the environment and to charity.

The screenwriter and author - who has bipolar disorder - has been president of the charity Mind since 2011 and since 2009 has been Vice-President of conservation charity Fauna and Flora International.

He said he is “startled and enchanted” by the accolade and feels it signifies that there’s “always hope” in life.
