Stephen Flynn in perfect response to drawing England in National charity sweepstake

STEPHEN Flynn had the perfect reaction after discovering he’d randomly drawn England in The National’s Euro 2024 charity sweepstake.

The timing was all the more perfect considering he had recently told ITV he wouldn’t be supporting England if Scotland is to exit this summer’s competition ...

However, things have now changed as, should England win the tournament, The National will be donating £1000 to his chosen charity – Community Food Initiatives North East (CFINE).

When The National informed Flynn of which team he’d ended up with, he replied: “That’s why I never gamble.”

He further quipped: “At least I know that if VAR decides to step in and help England win the tournament that some good will come from it.”

On its website, CFINE explains that it operates five community food pantries across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

Flynn (above) continued: “CFINE are a remarkable local charity who help support those in Aberdeen who need it most and I couldn’t be more thankful nor proud of the contribution they make to our city.”

The Jouker will be the first to admit supporting England isn’t high on the agenda but, like Flynn says, even if the worst comes to pass at least somebody in Scotland will benefit.
