United States' Stephen Curry (4) celebrates after beating France to win the gold medal during a men's gold medal basketball game at Bercy Arena at the 2024 Summer Olympics, Saturday, Aug. 10, 2

Golden State Warriors' star Stephen Curry has inked a one-year contract extension with the team for the 2026-27 NBA season, securing a substantial salary of nearly $63 million. The announcement of this agreement was made by the team on Thursday, following an initial report by ESPN. Curry's agent, Jeff Austin of Octagon, later confirmed the deal.

With this extension, Curry's total earnings for the next three seasons are now guaranteed to be around $178 million. This includes approximately $55.8 million for the current season, about $59.6 million for the 2025-26 season, and the recently added $62.6 million for the 2026-27 season, which represents the maximum amount the Warriors could offer under league regulations.

Upon the conclusion of the 2026-27 season, Curry's career on-court earnings will have reached an impressive $532 million, placing him second on the all-time list behind LeBron James' $580 million in player contracts. The 36-year-old Curry, who is entering his 16th NBA season, has spent his entire career with the Warriors, amassing a remarkable resume that includes 10 All-Star selections, 10 All-NBA team honors, four NBA championships, and two MVP awards.

During the previous season, Curry maintained an average of 26.4 points per game for the Warriors, showcasing his scoring prowess. Throughout his regular-season career, he has maintained a solid average of 24.8 points per game, solidifying his status as one of the league's premier offensive talents.

In addition to his NBA success, Curry also played a pivotal role in the U.S. Men's Basketball team's gold medal victory at the recent Olympic Games in Paris. His standout performance in the final against France, particularly in the fourth quarter, was instrumental in securing the championship for Team USA.

Stephen Curry's extension with the Warriors not only cements his status as one of the greatest players in NBA history but also underscores his enduring impact on the league both on and off the court.
