Seven years ago, Warriors star Stephen Curry helped the team come back to win a key regular-season game over the Thunder.
When Curry scored a three-pointer in overtime, ESPN’s Mike Breen made one of the most memorable calls in recent NBA history—the double bang.
To commemorate the special moment in Curry’s career, the four-time NBA champion dedicated his new Under Armour shoe line to Breen by calling it “Curry 2 Bang Bang PE Retro.”
“7 years to the day… a moment I’ll never forget,” Curry wrote in a Twitter post. “It’s only right the [king] of the ‘Baaang Baaang!!’ got the first pair!! Mike Breen, thanks for everything you’ve done for our amazing game. We had to bring these back for y’all.”
Curry gifts Breen the first pair of his new shoe line in the video above. While the ESPN announcer opened the shoes, Curry mimicked the memorable “Bang! Bang!” call in a video message.
“It’s an honor calling his games,” Breen said in the video. “And to have him say I have a small part of it means more than he knows and more than you can imagine. Thank you.”
