During a recent episode of 'The Late Show,' host Stephen Colbert expressed remorse over previous jokes made about Kate Middleton, following her announcement of a cancer diagnosis and upcoming chemotherapy. Colbert acknowledged the backlash he received for joking about Middleton's disappearance before her diagnosis was revealed, emphasizing that he does not make light of others' tragedies. He extended well-wishes for her swift recovery, recognizing the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Colbert's comments came after Middleton confirmed her cancer diagnosis in a video released on March 22. Prior to her announcement, various celebrities, including Blake Lively, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jamie Lee Curtis, expressed regret for speculating about Middleton's whereabouts and health status. Lively apologized for a previous post mocking Middleton's 'photoshop fails,' while Kimmel and Curtis condemned the conspiracy theories surrounding Middleton's absence from the public eye.

In her video statement, Middleton revealed that what was initially thought to be a non-cancerous condition turned out to be cancer following surgery. She disclosed that she is now undergoing preventative chemotherapy in the early stages of treatment, without specifying the type of cancer she is facing.
